How To Win An Election

“You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.” (Genesis 3:19)
“By the sweat of your brow.” An ancient idiom meaning “in fear or fearfully.”
In the Garden of Eden, God’s provision, protection, and presence were abundant, readily available, and free. However, when the Couple rejected God, they also lost those three essentials. Adam would continue his world-conquering and shaping work, but in his own strength, frail as it was compared to God’s help. There was no assurance of success (Genesis 3:17-18). If the crops failed, death was not far behind. And even though Adam and Eve could learn to protect themselves outside of Eden’s environs, there was no protection from their inevitable death.
Since the Fall and Adam and Eve’s subsequent expulsion from Eden, humanity has lived under the constant fear of death because we’re all faced with the ever-present threat of lacking those three essentials of life—provision, protection, and God’s presence.
Play on these fears, and you’ll get people to give you power and submit to you. If you can actually deliver provision and protection, even better. Fearful cowards will break down the voting booth door to put you in power so they can get what they want without fear.
Now we come to the Democratic Party’s How To Gain Power Through An Election book. On page 1, we read,
“When you campaign, make sure all of your constituents know, ‘We’re like God. We’ll give you all you want without fear, effort, or insecurity. Just submit to us and give us power.’”
Is it any wonder that, during every election, the Democratic Party promises free and unlimited provisions (free food via SNAP/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, WIC, and other food programs) and free and unlimited protection (free healthcare, money for housing, and other assistance)? All you have to do is make sure you keep them in power and ever-present while serving them and their agenda as your lords and masters —i.e., God.
The saddest part of this is all the people who get suckered into trading power for security. Yes, some truly need these kinds of assistance programs. That’s what they are there for. But for far too many, living as the Democrats’ handmaidens is far easier than relying on God and taking responsibility for one’s life.
To those people, selling oneself to the highest bidder is better than facing their fear of death through lack.
Sadly, the Democrats know this all too well and have done an excellent job of creating a constituency of cowards. It will be fascinating to watch what happens to New York City now that Mayor “Free Stuff” Mamdani has been elected.
The unfortunate part is that he’ll have to rob some to pay for the freebies of the many.
Imagine what a Garden of Eden New York City will become over the next four years.
