An Uneasy Feeling

I stand with Israel and the Jewish community. I believe they are the hub of God's redemptive plan for the earth and all humanity. Yet, I know that human nature renders people imperfect. I know there are things that are not right with Israel, just as I surely know there are things not right with the United States. There are sin and unrighteousness issues that plague both nations. Do I need to stand and judge Israel? No. The Lord continues to impress on me that He is more than able to guide and disciple His people.

The world is trying to meddle in God's relationship with Israel, either forcing them to capitulate or trying to seduce them. Either way the world wants Israel to abandon God. This is Satan's desire to put a stop to God's plan. My "gut" (the Holy Spirit?) tells me that Israel is entering a very difficult time period during which she will be attacked in unexpected ways. They are familiar with the rocket barrages, bombings, and terrorist attacks. I sense something else different and greater coming. Pray for Israel's protection and a growing desire to humble themselves under God's mighty hand.

While I believe there is something approaching Israel (perhaps from the Iran/Iraq region), there is a fork in the road that also directs that path to the United States. We MUST continue to stand with Israel in prayer, public relations, and material support! The United States destiny is linked with Israel's. What befalls her will befall the United States in some measure, I believe. What we do for or against Israel will return in kind upon the United States.

“Then the word of the Lord came to me: “Now you, son of man, mark out two roads that the sword of Babylon’s king can take. Both of them should originate from the same land. And make a signpost at the fork in the road to each city. Mark out a road that the sword can take to Rabbah of the Ammonites and to Judah into fortified Jerusalem. For the king of Babylon stands at the split in the road, at the fork of the two roads, to practice divination: he shakes the arrows, consults the idols, and observes the liver. The answer marked Jerusalem appears in his right hand, indicating that he should set up battering rams, give the order to[j] slaughter, raise a battle cry, set battering rams against the gates, build a ramp, and construct a siege wall. It will seem like false divination in the eyes of those who have sworn an oath to the Babylonians, but it will draw attention to their guilt so that they will be captured. (Ezekiel 21:18-23)
