A Prophetic Rescue

HighBeamMinistry.com

“He frees me from my enemies. You exalt me above my adversaries; you rescue me from violent men.” (Psalm 18:48)

President Trump accomplished a magnificent thing on Monday, October 13, 2025.

The remaining live Israeli hostages were returned from Gaza to Israel two years after Hamas’ horrendous attack on October 7, 2023.

Two years.

Two years of torture and starvation. Two years during which some of the hostages never saw daylight because they were shackled within the vast network of Hamas’ terror tunnels. Hamas cowards wickedly displayed their malice by publicly releasing a video of one hostage digging his own grave, then sparing his execution, just to mentally terrorize him.

Hamas is evil incarnate. It’s in the organization’s name. Hamas (chamas, Hebrew) means “violence.”

“He frees me from my enemies. You exalt me above my adversaries; you rescue me from violent (Hamas) men.” (Psalm 18:48)

Thank God the hostages are home. Sadly, they’ll never be the same. Some of them will suffer physical, mental, and emotional trauma for the rest of their lives. Healing will come, but it will never be complete. Please pray for them.

There is a remarkable aspect of the hostages’ release that escapes most of us, but many Jews will understand. This entire process took place during the Feast of the Lord known as the Feast of Tabernacles, a.k.a. The Feast of Sukkot (Soo-koht’, plural) (Exodus 23:14-17, Leviticus 23:33-44, Numbers 29:12-40, Deuteronomy 16:13-17).

Sukkot means “tents, tabernacles, booths, or shelters.” Sukkot commemorates Israel’s forty-year sojourn in the wilderness, beginning with their release from Egyptian slavery under Moses’ leadership and continuing until they entered Canaan and began its conquest under Joshua’s leadership. Sukkot reminds the celebrants of the Lord’s presence, provision, and protection in the midst of the harsh conditions of the wilderness.

Sukkot is a week-long autumn celebration that occurs in late September to mid-October. Box-like temporary structures are constructed during the five days between Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement) and the start of Sukkot. The roofs are usually covered in branches so that those within can see the sky. Families decorate their sukkah (soo’-kah, singular) festively. For the entire week, family and friends visit one another’s sukkot to share a meal, sing, study the Torah, celebrate, and schmooze. Watch the movie Ushpizin, and you’ll get a good idea of what the Feast of Tabernacles is like in Israel today.

Sukkot begins like a regular weekly Sabbath. You take the day off from work. From day 2 to day 6, the celebration erupts. Day 7 is called Hoshanah Rabbah, the Great “Save Us” prayer plea to the Lord. Traditionally, it’s a day when the people of Israel cry out to God to begin sending the life-giving rains, falling from autumn to spring, so that the land will produce a plentiful harvest from spring to the following autumn.

Because of Sukkot’s agricultural ties, the feast is a time to thank God for all He has provided. Without His loving, constant care, Israel would not survive. The people of Israel and Jews worldwide need God’s presence, provision, and with today’s antisemitic hatred, His protection.

Which brings us back to the October 13, 2025, hostage release.

It happened on the 7th day of Sukkot, Hoshanah Rabbah, the day of the Great “Save us” plea. The Lord heard and answered. On that day, the living Israeli hostages came home. They were saved on the day of great salvation.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on what Christians call Palm Sunday, the crowds cried out, “Hosanna!” —a great cry of salvation to the person they believed would be their future king, the Messiah. Little did most of them know that the salvation they needed was first spiritual. Jesus’ Hebrew name, Y’shua/Yeshua, comes from the Hebrew verb, to save, and means salvation, “you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21). The Jews in Jerusalem had the right person, but failed to understand the spiritual part of Jesus’ saving mission. Jesus laid the groundwork for salvation, which will be completed globally when He returns.

Through Jesus’ “great save us,” He has, and still is, saving many spiritual hostages from an evil spiritual enemy led by the Adversary.

The Hoshanah Rabbah, the Great “Save Us,” Israeli hostage release of October 13, Sukkot’s 7th day, is a perfect illustration of what Jesus is doing right now.

Israel’s God, the God of Abraham, and our God, does nothing by accident.

I see another picture in this event. President Trump initiated the Israeli hostage release. In the future, when Jesus returns to defeat His enemy and complete the most incredible hostage rescue in human history, it will be announced by the “last trump” (1 Corinthians 15:52 KJV; 1 Thessalonians 4:16 CSB). The Bible is clear. When Jesus returns, all Israel will be saved from their enemies (Zechariah 12:7-10; Romans 11:25-27 CSB)

Is the hostage release on October 13, Hoshanah Rabbah, a prophetic picture? A divine encouragement? A sign of the times? I think so. Are we in the End Times? I’m not sure. Other key elements aren’t in place yet. We may not be in the End Times, but it seems like we’re darn close.
